Engineering provides full design support for our Distribution,
Dealer and Customer networks. This includes all sizes of Renewable
Energy systems from small (less than 1 Watt) to large multi-Megawatt
Power plants.
Our expertise covers
all applicable fields of engineering, serving the complete field
of Renewable applications. Habitat designs and kits range from RV's
and small home lighting systems to an 80 kWp PV Multi-unit condominium.
Water pumping systems and designs range from small fountains to
1000-foot deep wells to a de-watering system of a few thousand of
gallons per minute. Our database includes family characteristics
for over 35 pumping families all run with DC power.
Extensive experience
in Cathodic Protection of Bridges, pipelines, well casings, ground
mounted metallic structures, has been accumulated since 1980.
Communication systems including 48 VDC (positive ground) are a routine
procedure.

Custom new product development includes the field of high efficiency
electronic and power control systems for DC-to-DC conversion "Maximum
Power Tracking" systems, efficient DC powered Evaporative Coolers,
Pump motors, compressors, and battery chargers. Custom Lighting
(including fixtures), unique ballasts, and all in one controller
have won many competitive bids with a good margin for our dealers
and OEM's.
System Design
includes appropriate sources of energy including Wind, Photovoltaics,
small hydro, stored Hydrogen using generators or fuel cells. Back-up
generators using Propane, Diesel, Natural or CNG, or Gasoline can
be included to meet worst-case needs. These "Hybrid" designs
are site specific and include variations in yearly usage as well
as applicable human factors.

ETA has assisted Builders and Developers in the design of new developments
and communities from site planning and usage, orientation of homes
for maximum solar utilization, water harvesting, waste composting,
energy efficiency of the structure and overhangs, passive solar features,
energy analysis, solar thermal considerations for green houses and
hot water systems. Our database on building materials, insulation,
high efficiency appliances, glazing, fenestration, radiant heating,
convective cooling, pumped ground water for heating or cooling, often
saves enough operating costs to quickly pay for the added costs.
Costs of our engineering
services are reasonable and average about 5% of the renewable system
cost. Initial discussions are done under our Marketing budget. Follow-on
work is usually done on a phase at a time, multi-phase basis. Prior
design and planning saves more than the cost of the engineering.
We also supply
complete systems at competitive pricing due to our purchasing power
and wide family of stocked products. ETA can assist with installations,
however we keep a database of experienced and certified installers
