Dependable
Solar Products offers a variety of sizes and
models of Evaporative Coolers designed for off grid consumer
and commercial applications (mainly buildings running on 12, 24, or 48
volt battery banks). These are enhanced, high-efficiency, DC-powered
evaporative coolers that use half as much power
as regular AC coolers! These units are not typical
evaporate coolers in that they do not run on conventional power grid
electricity (AC).
WARNING:
If your building is already connected to the
grid, this system is probably not for you. Instead, we recommend a grid-tie system,
which allows the use of solar electricity year round, while also
benefitting from utility company rebates.
With
utility costs rising and with cooling costs
the largest portion of that bill, it becomes more important each year
to consider alternatives. The ETA Engineering Solar Powered
Evaporative Cooler will cool your home/business for many years
for the present cost of one
(1) season.
Compared to air conditioning:
- Reduces operating costs up to 90%.
- Produces an environment of fresh, filtered air.
- Introduces a moderate humidity level.
Compared to traditional
evaporative coolers:
- Reduces operating costs up to 70%.
- Provides cooler temperatures
(5°-10°F).
- Extends life expectancy.
- Reduces maintenance time and money.
The solar powered option gives you up to 10
hours/day of “free” cooling when outside
temperatures are the hottest and electricity rates are the highest.
This "one-time" investment is one of the most cost-effective uses of
photovoltaic power, and will return your investment in just a few
years.
We carry two lines of
solar-powered evaporative coolers for different applications:
The Solar
Chill® units are
designed for applications with low back pressures, including open
spaces, greenhouses, and rooms or buildings where cooled air is brought
directly into the structure (such as through a window or a short piece
of ductwork) and distributed to other rooms via hallways, transoms,
etc. Fans are more energy efficient than "squirrel cage"
blowers. However, due to back pressure limitations, these
units are fitted with 6" thick CELdek®
cooling pads versus the 8" and 12" pads on the MasterCool®
units. These units work with grid-tie and off grid
power.
The MasterCool®
units are high efficiency evaporative coolers using "squirrel cage"
blowers designed to handle moderate back pressures like in buildings
where the cooled air is distributed via ductwork. These units
work with off grid power only. They will also work
in applications where the Solar Chill®
units will work but not vice versa.
Both coolers use the CELdek®
cooling medium, the most efficient evaporative
system in production (up to 90%) offering significantly cooler air. CELdek®
offers many benefits including improved comfort, reduced maintenance
and extended life span.
Both coolers offer these advantages:
- Lower cooling costs as much as 90%.
- Remove dust, pollen and pollution.
- DC model (standard) and AC/DC model (special order)
- Available in a variety of system sizes.
- Longer life span and less maintenance.
- Efficient water usage.
